Poem in A Bottle

September 4, 2011

My words are of love to you, sealed away for the rest of time,
Even though they won't help get you out of my mind.

I roll the paper up and slowly slide it in,
Reminiscing of all our times way back when.

I cork the bottle to preserve our love,
Something that once was.

I tie a gold ribbon around the bottle's neck,
No need for such fancy decorations, but what the heck.

Perhaps one day, my poem will drift to shore
And someone will read of the love I wanted forever more.

The clean and crisp paper will then be old,
But my story will still be told.

The bottle will be dirty,
The poem inside will show I'm hurting.

A long lost message of what our love could have been
If only we had tried harder back then.

The chances of you ever reading this poem are slim to none,
But I still want you to know you are the one.

I kneel down in the sand,
A strong wave washes the bottle from my hand.

Something I thought was always meant to be...
But all that's left is this poem in a bottle, written by me.

Dear Santa

January 2, 2010
"Dear Santa"

Everywhere in this world, children look up to you
Cause you make their Christmas wishes come true.

Santa, you have the power
To brighten a child's darkest hour.

I understand that I'm no longer a child
But if you granted my one wish, it'd be worth my wild.

So I'm gonna wish with all my might
That you'll hear my request tonight.

Santa, can you get my baby here
So all my loneliness disappears?

How I wish he was here to hold me tight
To make this Christmas seem right.

You're the only one who can help me now
And I know you'll get my baby here somehow.

So I'm wishing with all my might
That you'll bring my baby back to me tonight.

"Dear Santa"    (Part 2)

Last year I wrote you a letter with my one and only wish
Addressed the envelope to the North Pole, and sealed it.

Sent it off with great expectations
And now I'm sending you my thanks and appreciation.

You answered my letter that I wrote last year
And now I have my baby right here.

This year I have everything I want and am not asking for a thing
But maybe in a few years, I'll be in hopes for a ring.

Maybe you'll be able to help out with that
But for now, you have answered my wish and I send my deepest thanks.

Have a Merry Christmas and stay safe on your sleigh
I can't send enough thanks your way.

The Magic of Halloween

November 6, 2009
"The Magic of Halloween"

Halloween is on its way!
Trick-or-Treat is what they'll say.

As all the little ghosts and goblins scamper from house to house, collecting their treats
Oh, the fun of Halloween just can't be beat!

Witches on their brooms, fly through the air
I've never actually seen one, but maybe they're there.

A witch, black cat, goblin, skeleton, and ghost
Which costume is it that you like most?

Well I guess we'll soon find out
Cause dressing up is what it's all about.

Black cats come out on Halloween too.
But collecting treats is what you're here to do.

So go have fun and collect all your treats.
Before the nights over, you'll have a bagful of sweets.

And when this Halloween night is over and done
Don't worry, only one more year to have more of this magical fun.
