"The Dark Side"

Everyone says there's a dark side of me
I guess I express it in my poetry.
Whatever it takes, whatever I need to do
As long as I have the feeling that I no longer need you.
I have a heart that is bigger than life
And if you read my poetry, you would know I'm right.
I'm the girl who wants to say so much, but without others knowing
Well just give me a pen and I'll get the words flowing.
There are so many things that I never said, that a certain person should know
But I never tell people how I really feel...so they go.
Maybe I've been hurt too many times before
It always seems like everyone expects more.
I say the wrong thing at the wrong time
Even though the right words were there in my mind.
I avoid speaking how I really feel
Instead I suppress it, till I can no longer make it real.
What am I so scared of and why do I hide behind my poetry
I guess that's the biggest mystery, but it's also the dark side of me.
